Fomento Paraná, the state government's development financial institution, has already financed more than R$8 million in solar energy projects. Currently, Fomento Energia's credit line allows for the acquisition and installation of all components of solar, wind or biomass micro and mini-generation systems. The initiative follows the strategies outlined by the state government, which has been working on several fronts to transform Paraná into a more sustainable state. “We will collaborate to promote global changes that prioritize projects and constructions with low environmental impact, also through our financial institutions,” says Governor Carlos Massa Ratinho Junior. “We have a lot of potential for generating renewable energy in Brazil and in Paraná in particular, whether due to the abundant sunshine throughout the year or the regular winds in some regions, which are factors that favor improving the energy matrix,” explains the governor. Vinicius Rocha, Market Director at Fomento Paraná, highlights that one of the advantages of investing in photovoltaic solar energy is the short-term return. “The systems are easy and quick to implement, and the energy savings help cover the cost of financing. In addition to being sustainable, the system can reduce the cost of electricity bills by up to 90%,” Rocha emphasizes. He also emphasizes that if the entrepreneur takes out the loan and installs the system during 2022, he will be able to take advantage of another advantage, which is to almost fully offset the cost of energy, without having to pay for the use of the distribution network until 2045. It is possible to finance civil works (construction and renovation), assembly and installations. In addition, new machinery and equipment, domestic or imported, with greater energy efficiency, or that are related to the micro and mini-generation project of renewable energy can be financed. How much can be financed? The Fomento Energia credit line allows financing between R$20 thousand and R$500 thousand. What are the credit conditions? This line is for Micro and Small Businesses. The maximum payment term is up to 120, with a maximum grace period of 24 months. However, the institution clarifies that the total and grace periods may be changed depending on the analysis of the credit proposal. What is the interest rate? Interest rates start at 1,16% per month (interest rate indexed to SELIC). This rate may vary according to the credit analysis and the risk of the operation. What documents do I need to present? According to Fomento Paraná, access to this line of credit is mainly through the Network of Partners, credit agents and correspondents, who operate in the partner city halls or in trade and business associations, and also through accredited business companies, which operate in the various regions of the state.
