A ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency) authorized this Monday (16) the start of commercial operation of the Sol do Agreste photovoltaic complex, located in the municipalities of São Caitano and Tacaimbó, in Pernambuco. The start of operations was initially scheduled only for May.
According to official notices published in the DOU (Official Gazette of the Union), the six power plants that make up the complex are already fully operational, adding 169,83 MW of installed capacity to the Brazilian electricity grid.
With an estimated investment of R$ 823 million, the project belongs to Atiaia Renováveis. To enable connection to the SIN (National Interconnected System), a 34,5/230 kV step-up substation and a 1,3 km long 230 kV transmission line were implemented, responsible for connecting the complex to the Tacaimbó Substation.
The project began testing the final generating units on November 18th, a step that precedes the release for commercial operation.
