A ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency) determined, this Tuesday (16), that energy distributors in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro reinforce their contingency plans in the face of the alert of severe weather events in the region.

The measure aims to reduce the impacts of storms predicted by INMET (National Institute of Meteorology) for today and the coming days, which could cause power outages.

According to the agency, the plans should include the additional mobilization of trained teams to work on restoring the system, as well as protocols for coordination with public bodies, such as Civil Defense and the Fire Department, and local authorities.

A ANEEL also requested that the distributors Please forward preliminary information regarding relevant incidents in the distribution systems.

According to the Agency, although the guidance is preventive in nature, non-compliance may result in inspection processes and the application of sanctions provided for in Normative Resolution No. 846/2019.
