In 2025 the ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency) revoked 509 grant requests for solar and wind power generation projects, which together totaled around 22 GW of installed capacity, according to information released by the Agency itself this Tuesday (06).
The revocations mostly refer to requests made by the entrepreneurs themselves, who chose to abandon the projects after assessing the technical or economic unfeasibility of the ventures given the current scenario in the sector. Of that total, 348 requests are related to Law 15.269 / 2025, which resulted from the conversion of MP 1.304/2025.
The regulation allowed for the revocation of permits without penalties for projects that had obtained an extension to maintain the discount on network usage fees, but which had not yet signed the system usage contract.
The deadline for submitting these requests was December 26, 2025. In total, 158 projects submitted renewal requests, totaling approximately R$ 1,04 billion in guarantees associated with the projects.
Among the 190 solar and wind energy projects that did not request renewal within the deadline, the value of the guarantees involved totaled approximately R$ 1,41 billion, according to data from the regulatory agency.
Law 15.269/2025 inaugurates a new regulatory cycle in Brazil.
