A ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency) approved this Tuesday (26) the notice for Auction No. 1/2025, aimed at contracting energy to serve Sisol (Isolated Systems). The event is scheduled for September 26 and will feature the inclusion of hybrid solutions with renewable sources and battery storage.
The volume of energy to be contracted was increased from 49 MW to 67 MW. Supply is scheduled to begin on December 20, 2027, with the exception of Coari (AM), where supply will begin on December 1, 2030. In Anamã, Caapiranga, and Codajás (AM), supply may begin immediately, subject to authorization from the MME (Ministry of Mines and Energy).
Currently, Sisol are supplied only by thermoelectric plants powered by diesel and fuel oil, which requires the daily transportation of hundreds of fuel trucks to these locations, which are not connected to the SIN (National Interconnected System).
The upcoming auction, however, seeks to change this scenario by prioritizing solutions that combine biodiesel and natural gas-fired thermoelectric plants with solar photovoltaic plants, with or without storage systems. The bidding process requires that at least 22% of the contracted energy must come from renewable sources.
According to the Energy Research Company (EPE), 241 projects were registered, resulting in 80 supply solutions, totaling 1.870 MW of power offered. The three available lots received the following proposals:
- Lot 1 – Amazonas: 8,791 MW (19 supply solutions);
- Lot 2 – Amazonas: 48,253 MW (29 supply solutions);
- Lot 3 – Pará: 9,946 MW (32 supply solutions).
The composition of the registered projects is as follows:
- 32% natural gas-fired thermal power plants;
- 31% UFV associated with diesel and biofuel UTEs;
- 28% UFV with natural gas-fired power plants;
- 4% biodiesel power plants;
- 3% biofuel-powered TPPs;
- 2% UFV with biofuel.
