A ANEEL (The National Electric Energy Agency) approved this week the annual tariff adjustment for Equatorial Piauí, which serves approximately 1,57 million consumer units in the state.
The new rates represent an average increase of 13% in electricity bills for all consumer profiles, and will take effect from December 2, 2025, as shown in the image below.
According to ANEELThe indices were pressured by the costs of purchasing, transporting and distributing energy, by the payment of sector charges and by financial components from both the current tariff cycle and the previous period.

The announced adjustments come at a time when Equatorial Piauí is performing below expectations. In its latest annual report, the Agency ranked the distributor among the ten worst in the country in terms of continuity of electricity supply.
According to the document, consumers served by the company experienced an average of seven power outages throughout 2024, totaling 21 hours and 4 minutes without power, more than double the national average of 10 hours and 14 minutes.
The unsatisfactory performance led to the application of R$ 15,9 million in automatic compensations to consumers harmed by the distributor.
