The board of ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency) reduced a million-dollar fine imposed on Neoenergia Pernambuco. In a decision taken at a public meeting on Tuesday (19), the regulatory agency's leadership changed the amount from R$22,6 million to R$10,6 million.
The greater penalty had been applied by Arpe (Pernambuco Regulatory Agency), affiliated with ANEEL, for non-compliance with regulatory processes by the company, following an inspection carried out in 2023.
Nonconformities were identified in the application of criteria for calculating the energy to be recovered, with the Pernambuco agency considering errors in 31 of the 294 cases analyzed (10,54%). ARPE also identified 22 errors in 294 cases analyzed (7,48%), related to the estimated duration of the irregularity period in the measurement.
Readjustments
A ANEEL also approved the annual tariff adjustment for another Neoenergia arm, Neoenergia Elektro, headquartered in Campinas, São Paulo. The company serves three million consumer units in 228 municipalities between São Paulo and Mato Grosso do Sul.
From August 27th, the rates of 11,44% will come into effect, with an average effect of 11,88% for consumers (12,39% for high voltage and 11,62% for low voltage).
Another adjustment approved was that of Pacto Energia Paraná (formerly Força e Luz Coronel Vivida, or Forcel), a distributor that serves almost nine thousand consumer units in Paraná.
From the 26th, the adjustment will be 1,69%, causing an average effect for the consumer of 10,01% (23,52% and 1,82% for high and low voltage, respectively.
