Banco do Brasil announced this Monday (10) the launch of a new line of credit to finance acquisitions of solar energy generation systems in homes. The company also revealed that it has reinforced its 'green portfolio' with new consortium groups that value environmental, social and governance aspects.
In a video recorded about the action, the president of BB, Fausto Ribeiro, said that the two initiatives were launched with the aim of promoting and valuing the development of renewable energy in the country. “The objective is to show how important renewable energy and Brazil’s potential are,” he said.
According to the company, the new line of credit is now available to individuals and with digital contracts through the bank's application. With the new feature, it is possible to finance up to 100% of the value of photovoltaic systems, including installation. The installment plan is for up to 60 months, with interest starting at 0,75% per month, for amounts between R$5 and R$100.
Regarding the new consortium groups, the released modality aims to boost the acquisition of tractors and trucks. The bank basically bets on a promotional administration fee, which varies depending on the contracting public, starting at 0,09% per month, and updating reference goods by the IPCA (Broad Consumer Price Index), with annual adjustment.
In return, Banco do Brasil will take direct action on the environment, promoted by BB Consórcios in partnership with Fundação Banco do Brasil. The focus is to support institutions in the recovery of degraded areas. For each consortium share sold, ten trees will be planted.
The company also highlighted that one of its goals is to increase its clean energy matrix to reduce carbon emissions into the atmosphere. The goal is to reach the end of 2024 with 90% of the energy used coming from renewable sources.
