“Storage systems are a great business opportunity”, stated Márcia da Silva, Account Manager at battery manufacturer Sec Power, during the first day of the 3rd edition of Canal Connect, which is being held on May 14th and 15th, at the FPS (Faculdade Pernambucana de Saúde), in Recife (PE).

With the theme “Integrators of the future: successful strategies in energy storage”, the expert highlighted the benefits of batteries, such as cost savings, backup for times of supply interruption, improvement in energy quality, support for intermittent generation, load shifting, cost reduction during peak hours (peck shaving), integration of renewables and replacement or complement of generators diesel.

Gabriella Reigada, CEO of the GNHR Group, also presented some cases, citing as an example the case of an automobile mold industry that, after installing a battery bank, started to save R$85 thousand per year in maintenance expenses, idle labor and lost raw materials.

This result was achieved both by improvement in the quality of energy supply, as well as cost reduction when adopting the use of batteries for avoid consumption on the network during peak hours, reducing the need for demand contracting. With batteries, the industry will be able to operate 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, doubling production.

Batteries can replace diesel generators or complement them, which also helps to reduce companies' carbon footprint.

Excellent publication, the vast majority of installers, whether small, medium or large, do not precisely quantify the return obtained from the use of batteries. There are all these advantages listed above, and especially the reliability obtained in the system as a whole!

I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW MORE ABOUT THESE SEC POWER BATTERY SYSTEMS, AND KNOW IF THEY ALREADY HAVE A REPRESENTATION IN SALVADOR-BA.

I think it's a very distant future or not, because the cost of battery banks is not yet a reality for Brazil.
