O Brazil surpassed the mark 25 GW of operational capacity em solar energy on the morning of this Wednesday (08), according to the Canal Solar, based on data updated by ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency).
The amount takes into account the operational capacity of GC (centralized generation), in the so-called large plants, and GD (distributed generation), through small self-generation systems.
O volume of power was achieved less than a month after the source reached 24 GW mark, on January 12th. Us last 12 months, solar photovoltaic capacity in Brazil recorded growth of plus 9 GW.
Such growth helped to make the source reach the second position in the electrical matrix Brazilian at the beginning of January, overtaking wind farms and second only to hydroelectric plants.
In understanding the ABSOLAR (Brazilian Association of Photovoltaic Solar Energy) solar has everything to finish the year 2023 with 34 GW of operational capacity, with 21 GW in distributed generation and 13 in centralized generation.
Currently, the national photovoltaic market has 17,29 GW in distributed generation and 7,72 GW in centralized generation plantsAccording to ANEEL.
