A week after Raízen filed for extrajudicial reorganization, the electricity sector is back in the spotlight with a new case: CCEE (Chamber of Electric Energy Commercialization) has ordered the shutdown of Boven Comercializadora for non-compliance with market obligations.
The company had over 14 years of experience operating throughout the country and had a significant presence in the sector, being the largest shareholder of BBCE (Brazilian Energy Trading Platform).
In addition to the electricity sector, the company also maintained operations in areas such as civil construction, agriculture, and technology. The decision was made by the CCEE board based on the rules established in the Commercialization Convention and Normative Resolution No. 957/2021. ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency).
According to the entity, the company remained in default on the payment of nuclear energy quotas and did not provide justifications or signs of regularizing the situation.
"In accordance with Article 6 and Article 31, items IV and XV, of the CCEE Bylaws, as well as Articles 21, II and XXX, and 47 of the Commercialization Convention, established by Normative Resolution..." ANEEL "No. 957/2021, and considering that the agent Boven Comercializadora Varejista de Energia continues to be in breach of its obligations within the scope of CCEE, due to the default presented in the Settlement of Nuclear Energy Quotas," says CCEE.
According to the Chamber, the disconnection will take effect after the removal of assets associated with the trading company or the interruption of energy supply to consumer units linked to the company.
