The CEO of ABGD (Brazilian Association of Distributed Generation), Carlos Evangelista, announced this Thursday (22) that he has decided to leave the leadership of the entity. In a statement, he said that the decision comes at a “time of transition”, stressing that every solid institution must be bigger than any mandate.
"It is a natural moment of transition, marked by serenity, a sense of mission accomplished, and confidence that ABGD will continue to fulfill its role with relevance and responsibility," he emphasized.
As the organization's founder, Evangelista has been at the helm of the association since its creation in 2015, a period in which distributed generation (DG) went from being a still nascent topic in the electricity sector to becoming a consolidated national strategic agenda.
The executive emphasized that he will continue to follow the sector with interest and respect, dedicating himself to new professional challenges and projects aligned with innovation, the private sector, and the future of the energy transition in Brazil.
“Nothing that has been built is the work of an individual. ABGD is the result of the joint work of advisors, directors, associates, technical teams, institutional partners and collaborators who have shared the same vision throughout these ten years,” he stated.
In a statement, ABGD informed that it will continue its institutional activities normally, maintaining "its commitment to the technical, economic and regulatory defense of distributed generation and to the strengthening of a more modern, resilient and decentralized electrical system," the entity pointed out.
Distributed generation is projected to grow 15% in 2026, according to ABGD.
