As distributors of electrical energy denied more than 157 thousand connection requests of systems distributed generation in Brazil between the months of January 2022 and January 2023, according to data released by ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency).
The numbers were made available through a interactive panel with information about the requests made by January 7, 2023, the deadline set by the 14.300 Law to ensure the maintenance of the old rules for offsetting energy credits.
The survey, with information updated until August 31st of this year, shows that more than 865 thousand orders connection were performed during the period, with a percentage of 17,81% disapproval, as shown in the image below:
Among companies, the cemig (Companhia Energética de Minas Gerais) was the one that denied the most requests: there were more than 53 thousand rejections. Right behind, appears the Coelba Neonergy (Electricity Company of the State of Bahia) and celesc (Centrais Elétricas de Santa Catarina), with 27,1 thousand and 20,8 thousand refusals, respectively.
With 851 requests received, Sulgipe (Companhia Sul Sergipana de Eletricidade) stands out for being the concessionaire that, in percentage terms, rejected the most connection requests for distributed generation systems, with almost half of the requests (416 requests) denied.
According to ANEEL, most of the failures occurred for reasons of incorrect, incomplete documentation or other non-conformities. All rejected requests total more than 25,6 GW of power.

Despite the data released, the official failure numbers across the country tend to be even higher than those presented, since more than ten distributors have not yet submitted their reports à ANEEL, including large concession areas, such as CPFL Paulista, Enel-SP and EDP-SP.
In this sense, the Agency's platform does not yet allow identifying how many requests for distributed micro and mini generation projects were rejected or approved by these electricity concessionaires.

But I believe it would be better to look for another strategy, because going against the global trend is no use.
Be ashamed and be honest.
The vast majority of these denied requests were due to a lack of minimum documentation. Everyone saw the desperation up close, especially in the first week of January/23, when the full subsidy began to end. There were many integrators who did everything they could to try to keep the protocol date.
