Employees of EPE (Empresa de Pesquisa Energética), a state-owned company linked to the MME (Ministry of Mines and Energy), have proposed submitting the impasse in negotiations for the collective bargaining agreement to arbitration by the MPT (Labor Public Prosecutor's Office).
The proposal came after the company released a list of nearly 100 employees who were to return to work immediately, classified as "essential."
The category, however, contested the measure, stating that the studies conducted by EPE are strategic, but do not qualify as urgent services that would jeopardize the safety or health of the population.
According to the union document, the workers remain mobilized to guarantee a fair salary adjustment and the preservation of rights, criticizing the 4,26% adjustment proposed by the board.
The category's counterproposal foresees adjustments based on the IPCA (National Consumer Price Index) between May 2024 and April 2025, with a real gain of 3,5%, which would represent a budgetary impact of R$ 11,5 million.
The employees are also demanding clear rules for dismissal without just cause, regulation of hybrid work arrangements, and a review of benefits such as food and health insurance, which, according to them, have been accumulating losses since 2014.
In a statement, the Intersindical strike committee stated that the struggle "is not only for fair wages, but for the appreciation of a technical body that 'guarantees Brazil's energy planning'," it emphasized.
