Auctions for existing energy generate R$ 6,48 billion.

Auctions offered an average discount of 15,45%, generating savings of R$ 1,18 billion for consumers.

On Friday (14), CCEE (Chamber of Electric Energy Commercialization) held the 35th (A-1), 36th (A-2) and 37th (A-3) Existing Energy Auctions, which together involved the participation of 42 winning agents. In total, 31.189.348,8 MWh were traded, resulting in a financial movement of over R$ 6,48 billion.

The consolidated average price of the three auctions was R$ 207,81/MWh, with an average discount of 15,45%. This result represents savings of R$ 1,18 billion for regulated consumers.

Performance by auction

In the A-1 auction, an average of 600,4 MW was traded at an average price of R$ 205,74/MWh, generating R$ 2,16 billion. The average discount of 26,52% resulted in savings of R$ 781,1 million.

Among the sellers, notable companies include Simple Energy, Auren, Ecom, Enel Trading, Atiaia, ATMO, Cesp, Coqueiral, ELEIA, Indra Energia, Luz, PAECOM, and Zeta Energia. Energy buyers included distributors such as Ampla, EDP Bandeirante, Celesc, Celpa, Cemar, Coelce, CPFL Jaguari, CPFL Paulista, Enel SP, Escelsa, and Sulgipe.

The A-2 auction negotiated an average of 631,4 MW, with an average price of R$ 205,40/MWh and a financial amount of R$ 2,27 billion. The average discount was 14,42%, resulting in savings of R$ 383,3 million.

Among the sellers are Atiaia, Bolt, BTG Pactual, EDF, EDP, Enel Trading, Engeform, Engie, Itapebi, NC Energia, PAECOM, and Zeta Energia. Among the buyers are Amazonas Energia, Ampla, Celesc, Celpa, Cemar, Coelce, CPFL Jaguari, Enel SP, Light, and Sulgipe.

The A-3 auction moved an average of 546,8 MW at an average price of R$ 212,88/MWh, totaling R$ 2,04 billion. The average discount was 0,99%, guaranteeing savings of R$ 20,2 million.

The following companies participated as sellers: Atiaia, BTG Pactual, Coqueiral, Czarnikow, Danúbio UFV, Enel Trading, Engie, Florenz, IBTU, Tradener, and Zeta Energia. The buyers were Ampla, Coelce, CPFL Paulista, CPFL Piratininga, Enel SP, and RGE Sul.

Supply deadlines

The contracts signed under A-1 will come into effect on January 1, 2026, and end on December 31, 2027.

In the A-2 phase, the supply will be from January 1, 2027 to December 31, 2028. In the A-3 phase, the contracts will be valid between January 1, 2028 and December 31, 2029.

During the contract period, prices remain fixed, without any type of adjustment, which transfers the inflationary risk of the period entirely to the sellers.
