Last Wednesday (10), Operation Equi-Cobre resulted in the recovery of 2 tons of stolen cables, the arrest of 12 people and the seizure of electrical materials valued at R$ 78,2.
This action is part of an ongoing mobilization carried out throughout 2025 by the teams of Equatorial Group, in partnership with public security forces, focusing on combating the theft and receiving of stolen electrical network materials.
So far this year, Operation Equi-Cobre has enabled the recovery of more than 63 tons of copper and other electrical materials, with an estimated value of R$ 2,4 million.
In total, 159 people were arrested in operations carried out in the seven states where the company operates: Alagoas, Amapá, Goiás, Maranhão, Pará, Piauí, and Rio Grande do Sul.
The inspections include visits to scrap yards, recycling plants and collection points, with the aim of identifying materials of suspicious origin and disrupting the illegal trade chain.
In addition to copper and aluminum cables, the operation recovered approximately 20 transformers, various electrical equipment, and 184 relocated utility poles throughout 2025.
