FLIR, a world leader in thermal imaging, is expanding its presence in the solar energy sector with a portfolio of solutions focused on measuring and maintaining photovoltaic systems.

The company presented its strategy and differentiators during an exclusive event held at the Pullman São Paulo Hotel. Canal Solar attended the presentation and spoke with Danilo Bonato, FLIR's Sales Manager for Latin America, who detailed the company's new developments for the segment.

Innovative solutions for solar energy

FLIR is recognized globally for its thermal imaging technology and is now focusing on the solar sector. According to Bonato, the company has been incorporating new tools to optimize the measurement and maintenance of photovoltaic systems.

“This year we are expanding our portfolio to the solar energy market, which is already a major consumer of thermography. We now offer complete solutions, such as radiance meters, IV curve trackers, 1500 V DC clamp meters and multimeters. All of this is connected with Bluetooth applications and software, allowing for report generation and cloud integration,” he explained.

FLIR's differentiators in the market

With over 50 years of history, FLIR emphasized that it stands out for the robustness and quality of its products. “Unlike competitors who prioritize only cost, we focus on durability and local technical support.”

“Therefore, FLIR’s main differentiator goes far beyond the product. We are an American multinational with support and technical assistance in Brazil. Our equipment is extremely robust and reliable. The most basic model we offer has a 10-year warranty, something that few companies can offer in the market,” Bonato emphasized.

Betting on the growth of the solar sector

FLIR has been investing heavily in the renewable energy market, following the accelerated growth of the photovoltaic sector. For the company, solar is one of the most promising segments in Brazil.

“This clean energy market is the future, not only in Brazil, but worldwide. Solar energy is accessible and growing rapidly, and the profile of professionals in this segment requires qualified technical knowledge. Our mission is to train these specialists and incorporate thermal imaging into their routine,” said the manager.

FLIR technology for prevention and security

FLIR equipment helps in the detailed analysis of solar plants, enabling performance improvements and failure prevention. “Our solutions allow for proper positioning, extracting the best possible result, preventing incidents and anticipating failures.”

“This prevents short circuits and even potential fires. Our technology offers an important differentiator: as our slogan says, we provide the 'world's sixth sense', bringing this extra vision to professionals working with photovoltaic energy”, concluded Danilo Bonato.
