At 89 years old, farmer Laércio de Amorim, a resident of Jaguaribe (CE), saw his financial reality change after investing in a solar energy system installed on his property. His electricity bill, which used to reach around R$ 700,00 per month, is now no more than R$ 80,00.

The initiative brought more comfort, savings, and financial security for him and his entire family. "The expenses I had with irrigation were very high. Now I only pay the minimum Enel fee," says Laércio.

The photovoltaic system, installed on the ground of the rural property, cost R$ 20.000,00 – an amount raised after the sale of part of the land. “Many times it’s worth giving up something, like a piece of land or even a car that isn’t used for work, and investing in something that will bring savings every month,” he reveals.

In the interior of Ceará, where the heat exceeds 30°C even in the early morning, the impact is not only financial — it also affects well-being. Before, Laércio and his family avoided using air conditioning, since its operation represented an increase of about R$ 300,00 in the electricity bill.

Mrs. Lourdes, the farmer's wife, confirms the transformation. "If we were to pay for regular electricity, we would pay more than R$ 1.000,00 per month. Today, even with three air conditioners, we pay around R$ 80,00. The investment was worth it," she says.

With the monthly savings, the family can now plan for the future with more peace of mind. "Whatever is left over, I save. It's security for old age, for health, for everyday life," Laércio celebrates.

The farmer's example shows how solar energy, once seen as a distant investment, has already become a reality for low- and middle-income families in Brazil, reducing costs, bringing comfort, and ensuring greater energy independence.

Besides Laércio's story, the Canal Solar has already shared countless other stories of Brazilians whose quality of life has been transformed after adopting solar energy.

One example is that of a A retired couple who managed to keep their health insurance plan up to date. thanks to the savings provided by technology — and that of a A seamstress who believed solar energy was "something for the rich," but discovered it was affordable..
