Huawei and Powersafe have signed a distribution agreement for the commercialization of Built-in Energy Storage Systems (BESS) in the Brazilian market.
The partnership aims to expand the companies' portfolio of solutions with new battery technologies, meeting demands ranging from residential applications to large-scale projects, including commercial, industrial, and rural segments.
The agreement combines Huawei's global capabilities with Powersafe's market knowledge and local structure. The companies are also betting on the development of new business models in the country, such as BESS as a Service, which allows access to storage solutions without the need for full initial investment.
With Powersafe distributing Huawei equipment, companies expect to accelerate the adoption of storage systems in Brazil, offering global technology combined with local support, applied engineering, and after-sales services.
According to the companies, the partnership also seeks to structure an ecosystem focused on reducing operational and tariff costs, through more efficient management of energy consumption and increased energy autonomy, especially in regions with unstable supply.
“Brazil is rapidly expanding its installed energy storage capacity. Innovative projects have demonstrated that BESS systems can improve the reliability, efficiency, and sustainability of the national energy matrix,” says André Ribeiro, National Executive of Renewable Operations at Powersafe.
Simon Tsui, CEO of Huawei Brazil, believes that battery storage should play a central role in the evolution of the country's energy infrastructure and in the transition to renewable sources. "With global technology and a consolidated local presence, the alliance promises to be a competitive advantage for large energy projects," he said.
