Starting Tuesday (26), Expo Center Norte, in São Paulo (SP), will host Intersolar South America 2025, the main solar energy fair in Latin America and part of the The smarter E South America platform.
According to the organization, with the goal of accelerating integrated energy solutions, the largest trade fair alliance for the energy sector in Latin America aims to create a future-oriented energy reality, integrating not only renewable energy, decentralization and digitalization, but also cross-sector solutions between the electricity, heat and transport sectors, towards a sustainable and continuous energy supply.
The organization is carried out by Solar Promotion International, Pforzheim and Freiburg Management und Marketing International, with co-organization by Aranda Eventos & Congressos.
Spanning four trade shows and four conferences, the platform will bring together professionals and leaders from global markets to present the latest innovations, trends, and technologies in energy:
- Intersolar South America: Latin America's largest fair and congress for the solar sector;
- ees South America: Essential event for batteries and storage systems;
- Power2Drive South America: Focus on charging infrastructure and electromobility;
- Eletrotec+EM-Power South America: Dedicated to electrical infrastructure and energy management.
The event will bring together the entire value chain of photovoltaic energy and energy storage solutions, with manufacturers and distributors of modules, cells, tracking systems, BoS and various dedicated applications.
Global and local brands showcase their latest technologies, focusing on profitability, cost-effectiveness, and updates on industry advancements. And, for the fifth time, Canal Solar will be present as a media partner at the event.
With an expected 68 visitors, the fair will also host the Intersolar South America Congress. The program features debates on key topics in the photovoltaic sector in Brazil and worldwide.
Panels and debates
Among the sessions that make up the congress, which continues until Thursday (28), the debate on “The panorama of the Brazilian electricity sector” stands out, showing that, despite the cyclical and structural challenges, solar energy had its best historical performance in 2024.
In the panel, which will take place on the 2nd floor of Expo Center Norte, in room Cantareira 3-5, experts will share perspectives on public policies, planning, regulation, operations and the market.
Another topic of discussion will be "New Strategies for a Transforming Electricity Sector," the topic of the debate taking place at 16 p.m. This session will address the strategies and business models that are emerging to take advantage of the full market opening, the acceleration of electrification, and the entry of new large consumers.
Other topics on the agenda at the Intersolar South America 2025 congress involve the regulatory framework for DG (distributed generation), emerging demands for solar energy and international experiences in the solar market.
Other congress topics include:
- Regulatory framework for distributed generation;
- Emerging demands for solar energy;
- International experience in the sector.
Solar sector numbers
According to ABSOLAR (Brazilian Association of Photovoltaic Solar Energy), since 2012 the sector has brought to the country:
- More than R$266 billion in investments;
- The generation of 1,7 million jobs;
- The reduction of 86,6 million tons of CO₂ in electricity generation.

For Rodrigo Sauaia, CEO of the organization, the opportunities go beyond that: Brazil can expand its leadership with technologies such as energy storage, artificial intelligence, and green hydrogen. However, he emphasizes that progress in public policies and regulations is needed to realize the country's full solar potential in the energy transition.
