The LPT (Light for All) program will have a total budget of R$ 6 billion in 2026, according to MME Ordinance No. 898, published by the MME (Ministry of Mines and Energy) this Friday (27).
The amount includes R$ 2,57 billion earmarked for serving up to 122 new consumer units, in addition to the R$ 3,4 billion already allocated.
According to the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME), the measure ensures the continuity of works to universalize access to electricity, especially in rural and remote regions, and strengthens the program's capacity to bring electricity to families still without service.
The regulation also allows for the advance of funds when budgetary resources are available, accelerating the execution of actions and preventing delays.
Resources returned to the CDE (Energy Development Account), resulting from the termination or revision of contracts, will be reinvested in the program, expanding investment in areas of greatest need, including the Legal Amazon, where logistical challenges are more complex.
The 2026 budget was built based on Public Consultation No. 207/2025 and adjusted to align physical targets and financial programming with the reality of contracts in execution.
With this, the program reinforces its role as a strategic public policy for social inclusion, guaranteeing access to electricity and promoting development in hard-to-reach regions.
