Lollapalooza, one of the world's leading music festivals, starts this Friday (20) at the Interlagos racetrack in São Paulo (SP). For the second consecutive year, the event will have emissions 100% offset by Comerc Energia.
The company estimates that it will offset 12,6 tons of CO₂ generated during the three days of the festival, which also takes place this Saturday (21) and Sunday (22). In the 2025 edition, there were more than 12 tons of CO₂ were neutralized., taking into account emissions associated with the event infrastructure and other activities.
Compensation is achieved through the purchase of carbon credits from the BAESA project (Barra Grande Hydroelectric Plant), which focuses on reforestation and conservation of forest areas in Brazil. The initiative also involves the use of credits generated from renewable assets of Comerc Energia.
Among them is the Bon Nome Solar Complex, located in São José do Belmonte (PE). The project is certified by the Global Carbon Council with the Diamond seal, the program's highest classification, and has more than 130 MWp of installed capacity.
As in previous editions, Lollapalooza is expected to receive more than 100 people per day. “Solutions like this support our clients in their ESG strategies while generating environmental and business value,” says Clarissa Sadock, CEO of Comerc Energia.
