Employees of an energy company were arrested after demanding a bribe to avoid issuing a fine to a consumer.

The case was classified as extortion, a crime that occurs when an individual demands an undue advantage by virtue of their position.

Dois funcionários de uma concessionária de energia foram presos pela Polícia Civil na última quinta-feira (16), em Lucas do Rio Verde (MT), suspeitos de exigir propina para evitar a aplicação de multas a moradores da cidade. A ação foi conduzida pela Derf (Delegacia Especializada de Roubos e Furtos).

Segundo a corporação, os profissionais, de 26 e 29 anos, foram abordados no momento em que tentavam concluir um acordo irregular com uma das vítimas. O caso foi enquadrado como concussão, crime que ocorre quando um agente exige vantagem indevida em razão da função.

A investigação teve início após um empresário da cidade procurar as autoridades relatando a abordagem dos funcionários. De acordo com o depoimento, a situação começou no dia 14 de abril, quando os suspeitos realizaram uma vistoria em seu estabelecimento.

No dia seguinte, retornaram ao local informando a existência de uma suposta irregularidade na ligação de energia e sugeriram um “acordo financeiro” para evitar a autuação. O valor solicitado teria sido de R$ 15 mil.

Um dia depois, os funcionários da concessionária voltaram novamente ao estabelecimento com a intenção de finalizar a negociação. Nesse momento, foram surpreendidos pelos agentes da Derf durante a abordagem à vítima.

Os funcionários foram encaminhados à delegacia, onde prestaram depoimento, e permanecem à disposição da Justiça. O nome da concessionária de energia elétrica não é citado pela Polícia Civil.
