The City of Salvador, in partnership with SENAI CIMATEC, has opened a call for proposals for the Zero Carbon City program, which aims to create connections between challenges from partner industries and innovative solution proposals from startups. The initiative will have non-reimbursable financial support in the form of cooperation in which the selected institutions will have the support of the existing institutions.

The challenges proposed by companies and the solutions proposed by startups must be aligned with the themes of neutralizing greenhouse gas emissions, in addition to addressing the issue of neutralizing CO₂ emissions in 2049.

“The call comes from a partnership that has been working for a long time between City Hall and Senai Cimatec in the search for innovative and sustainable solutions for our city. We have a mission to fulfill by 2049, and we need to create conditions for entrepreneurs with good ideas to be part of this effort that public authorities and the private sector are making to achieve our objective”, says Edna França, secretary of Secis (Secretariat of Sustainability and Resilience) .

Those interested in participating must fall into the following categories:

  • Medium and large industrial companies, regularized and with an active CNPJ, that have a primary industrial CNAE or are SESI and/or SENAI contributors;
  • Startups with an active CNPJ for up to 10 years of existence, whose annual revenue is less than R$16 million; It is,
  • Partner institutions with the aim of contributing to the carrying out of proofs of concept, through economic or financial compensation, but do not meet the requirements to appear as a demanding industry.

To register, industries must indicate their challenges and startups must submit proposals with solutions related to the theme. Registration is open until October 15th via the link: Called Zero Carbon City.

Steps

Registrations are made by startups by submitting proposals with solutions for industries with challenges related to the chosen theme. SENAI CIMATEC will then monitor the interactions between startups and industries to find the best solutions. And finally, the last stage is the execution of the selected projects, which may receive investments of up to R$200 to be used to carry out tests and/or improvements of the solutions presented, in addition to having mentoring from SENAI CIMATEC.
