The City Hall of St. Andrew inaugurated, last Tuesday (28), its first plant of generation of solar energy.
The enterprise has 1.764 solar panels in an area of 11 thousand square meters. The structure has a control room, For monitoring e management of energy generated, fencing, drainage, grass and landscaping.
The project of the photovoltaic park also foresees the construction of four other plants, one on Avenida dos Estados and two others in the landfill region, in the Cidade São Jorge neighborhood.
O amount of investments will be approximately R$41 million, with resources coming from the Andreense Public Lighting Fund.
"And the first plant of production of Photovoltaics, solar energy production, in our city. Santo André will have the largest complex public municipal of production of solar energy, clean, from Brazil”, said Mayor Paulo Serra.
"Our complex of four plants represents the best before date a city of about 12 thousand citizens, 3,3 thousand houses approximately, considering four people per family”, highlighted the mayor.
The energy generated in the set of plants will be used to meet the demand for consumption of public buildings.
“Starting next year we will see a reduction in the city’s electricity bills, considering the arrival of LED to 100% of the municipality through Banho de Luz, plus the production of clean energy, which will reduce this cost”, concluded Serra.
