Siemens will install a hydrogen hub in Chile, says Andreas Eisfelder, the company's head of research. The announcement was made at the online seminar “Technologies for the Hydrogen Economy” held by Camcha (German-Chilean Chamber of Commerce).
During the meeting, the executive highlighted the role of regulation in advancing this technology in the country and emphasized the enormous potential that Chile has for producing and exporting green hydrogen, based on the use of renewable energy.
The Minister of Energy, Juan Carlos Jobet, also participated in the event. He assessed the role that hydrogen will play in the national decarbonization process, as estimates indicate that it would contribute between 17% and 27% to the mitigations necessary to achieve the goal.
