Topen Energy announced the acquisition of four photovoltaic solar power plants from Copel in Paraná for R$ 78 million. With the acquisition, the company adds 22 MWp to its installed capacity, enough to meet the consumption of approximately 17 customers in the region.
Today, the company has 45 distributed generation (DG) projects in Paraná, totaling 120 MWp of power, enough to supply up to 93 homes.
As reported by the company, the newly acquired solar power plants aim to benefit local businesses, industries, and commerce, offering savings of up to 10% on energy costs.
Topen's proposal aims to make it possible to reduce these expenses without the consumer needing to invest in their own infrastructure, such as solar panels, which facilitates adoption by clients of different sizes and sectors.
The corporation, which currently manages approximately 300 consumer units, intends to expand that number to 1 million by 2026, following the growth trend of solar energy generation in the country.
Recently, the company had also announced a Raising funds through incentivized debentures in other states totaling R$ 293 million.Most of this amount, R$ 200 million, will be directed towards the implementation of 21 solar power plants in states such as Bahia, Goiás, Mato Grosso do Sul, Pernambuco, and Rio Grande do Norte.
A second fundraising round, of R$ 93 millionThe investment will be applied to 11 projects distributed across São Paulo, Maranhão, Bahia, and Goiás. According to the entity, Paraná is a key market for the expansion of solar energy in Brazil, and the transaction with Copel should reinforce Topen's bet on the state's potential.

For the company, the operation indicates the growing interest of businesses and consumers in more sustainable and accessible energy solutions, in a scenario of transition to renewable energy sources.
