Tramontina has advanced its strategy of self-generating energy by acquiring a stake in two wind power projects from TotalEnergies.
The operation involving the Maral I and Maral II projects received approval from Cade (Administrative Council for Economic Defense) this Tuesday (18).
With this deal, six companies from the Tramontina group will participate in the projects. The transaction aims to allow the company to benefit from the self-production of energy model. The negotiated value and the projected power output for the two projects were not disclosed.
The following companies are participating in the acquisition: Tramontina Delta, Tramontina Farroupilha Indústria Metalúrgica, Tramontina Garibaldi Indústria Metalúrgica, Tramontina Eletrik, Tramontina Cutelaria, and Tramontina Multi.
The Maral I and Maral II wind farms are not yet operational. However, the projects already hold licenses, permits, and rights related to the development and future operation of the wind farms.
Market positioning
The acquisition of a stake in wind power projects expands Tramontina's presence in the renewable energy sector. In addition to seeking the benefits of self-generation of energy for its operations, the group is also advancing in the market for equipment geared towards this segment.
Last year, Tramontina Eletrik launched a product line aimed at the solar energy sector. According to the company, the development of the portfolio involved almost two years of technical studies, negotiations, and the application of knowledge in the electrical field.
