Trina Storage projects delivering 2,5 GWh of built-in energy storage systems (BESS) in Latin America in the first half of 2026. This expectation is driven by the signing of two new contracts, totaling 1.203 MWh, developed in partnership with T-Power in Chile and YPF Luz in Argentina.

The new agreements add to the 1,2 GWh of BESS systems already delivered by the company in the region throughout 2025. According to Vicente Walker, Trina Storage's director for Latin America, last year marked a turning point for the company in the regional market.

"2025 was a decisive year not only for the volumes delivered and contracted, but also for the quality and relevance of the strategic partners who trusted our systems," he stated. Among the clients served during this period are groups such as CIP, Atlas Renewable Energy, T-Power, and YPF Luz.

In Chile, Trina Storage batteries will equip the BESS Luz del Norte project, located in Copiapó, in the Atacama region. The project will have a nominal power of 141 MW and a storage capacity of 722 MWh, distributed across 144 battery containers.

According to the company, the system will optimize the operation of the Luz del Norte photovoltaic plant, reducing energy losses during the day and enabling the sale of production at night.

In Argentina, a contract was signed with Central Dock Sud SA, controlled and operated by YPF Luz, for the development of the BESS Alma Sur project. The installation will have a nominal power of 90 MW and a capacity of 481 MWh, based on 96 battery containers.

According to Trina Storage, the solution will be strategic in addressing the challenges of seasonal energy sufficiency in the province of Buenos Aires, contributing to strengthening the reliability of the local electrical system.
