“Women in Energy Transition” Award will bring scientists and engineers to France“Women in Energy Transition” Award will bring scientists and engineers to France

O “Women in Energy Transition” award, promoted by ENGIE in partnership with French embassy, was launched on Monday (14) with the aim of encourage the role of woman in research and engineering in Brazil and France, mainly focused on energy transition.

The winners will win a one-week trip to France, with an elevation difference of immersion in activities aimed at your professional development. The trip is scheduled for week of February 11, 2025, in celebration of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science.

Round-trip airfare to France, 7 nights in a hotel and 7 daily rates are included. During the visit, they will have meetings with French stakeholders, meeting with the French Ministry of Energy Transition, a visit to the ENGIE R&D center, in addition to meetings in com teams and company experts.

Are 3 categories of award: Researchers, Female engineers and an exclusive category for professionals engineers from ENGIE Brazil.  

The multifaceted aspects of women in the energy sector

To participate in the category “Researchers”, you need to be a researcher with less than 10 years of research, disregarding the period of obtaining a doctorate or PhD, on the closing date for applications. In the category “engineer”, you need to be an engineer with less than 10 years of experience.

In both categories, the candidate must reside in Brazil, regardless of nationality, and who actively works towards the national energy transition.

In the category “ENGIE Brasil Female Engineer in the Energy Transition” may register female engineers with less than 10 years of experience and let them be ENGIE employees for at least 3 months. It is also necessary that the professional activity has contributed to the objectives of the energy transition in the country.

Second Sophie Quarré de Verneuil, Director of People and Culture at ENGIE Brazil, the award is in line with ENGIE's purpose, which is to accelerate the transition for a carbon neutral world by reconciling performance with a positive impact on people and the planet. 

“We are certain that this exchange of experiences among Brazilian leaders e french will be rich and inspiring, reinforcing our action for gender equity, especially in our sector,” says Sophie.

Solar energy is the renewable source that hires the most women in the world

To sign up, Candidates must complete the application form until November 22nd clicking here.

 The form must be attached with the curriculum, One presentation letter, One commitment letter, project description in the area of ​​energy transition, description of possible benefits that immersion would bring to the projects and a letter of support of a personality in the area of ​​research or industry.

Applications will be reviewed by a panel of internal experts from ENGIE Brasil, da French Embassy quality academic experts involved with the theme of energy transition. 

Already the ENGIE employees will be chosen internally, without the participation of the French Embassy, ​​following the same criteria as the external call and with the evaluation of the company's Executive Committee.

The results will be released in early December.
