Participating in four international fairs – Intersolar Mexico 2022, Solar and Storage Mexico 2023, Intersolar Europe 2023 and Intersolar South Brazil 20233 – I can say that a new revolution is approaching in Brazil.

When we talk about revolution, we understand that it is about changes, which can occur at a varying pace, depending on the environment in which they occur.

As we already know, many countries have advanced to a mature market in relation to solar energy, moving from expansion to consolidation.

Years ago, they embraced the need for energy storage, starting a new business model and directing your systems to hybrid systems with batteries in residential projects, commercial and industrial, expanding the energy ecosystem.

And what about Brazil? After Intersolar South America 2023, it is clear that the Brazil and Latin America have become the focus of global storage system manufacturers.

Various brands, both of batteries and hybrid inverters, presented their equipment, leaving nothing to be desired in relation to what was displayed at the international fairs in Germany and Mexico. Therefore, I reinforce the idea that the new solar revolution is coming to Brazil.

The question is: are we prepared to act? Or are we just waiting for things to happen to take more effective actions and follow countries that are already advanced in this area of growth?

I often hear: “There is no demand for hybrid inverters” or “Batteries are expensive”. But I rarely hear: “Let’s study where to start and how to develop this area”.

I believe that Brazil has great potential to develop storage projects and become a valuable area for installers and distributors. But what is needed to change the solar energy scenario in Brazil?

Firstly, I believe that the sector is becoming increasingly selective in terms of knowledge. Those who think that offering just low prices is enough may soon no longer have a place in the market. This is because low prices can turn into high costs in the future, especially in relation to after-sales problems.

Those who faced 2023 with resilience, seeking to understand the directions to follow and adopt best practices in installing solar systems, are well prepared to play a fundamental role in this new revolution.

In this new scenario, the search for knowledge and understanding of the technology we offer, together with the desire to understand the needs of our customers in the context of solar energy, will be fundamental to achieving sales success and positioning Brazil as one of the main players in energy storage.

Therefore, prolonged waiting can lead to missed opportunities and leave us behind in the revolution that began in 2012 and which in the last six years has become a great area to work on.

We must look at what other countries have done, bring their experiences to Brazil and plan how to adapt strategies to the appropriate audience. This will make all the difference between waiting or fighting.

So that the new solar revolution in Brazil is aligned with what the country deserves, We must start now to become more capable professionals and focused on offering the best experience to the public.

I'm sure this isn't just about low prices. I believe that determination, focus and, above all, the constant search for knowledge are the path to this journey that is just beginning in Brazil.

  1. I believe that authorities, especially those with technicians in the area, should lead these discussions, checking what is important for Brazil today and in the near future, as the use of batteries in generation systems needs, above all, regulation.
Unfortunately, with the slow economic progress in the last 10 years, the demand for energy is not growing to force major advances and the fact that the electrical matrix is more than 80 percent renewable does not help either.

  2. Well, first I would like to congratulate you, excellent article, I completely agree, and taking advantage of this, I would like if you could recommend a good course to me, as I am a representative in the area of construction materials, and I would like to work in this area because I believe it is the future of energy in the country?

  3. The solar energy sector in Brazil is becoming increasingly selective in terms of knowledge. Installers and distributors who do not stay up to date on the latest technologies and trends may find it difficult to compete in the market.

  4. A country where the consumer has the lowest price assessment basis. Batteries and hybrid technologies do have sales restrictions in the country. The focus is where the demand is.

  5. Good morning, firstly I want to congratulate you on the beautiful material that you see developing during this journey in the solar sector. It is very important to disseminate knowledge and qualify professionals through your courses.
I am an enthusiast of renewable energies and have been in the market and studying them since 2006, and I have been working in the area since 2012 and in 2017 I had my first contacts with large storage systems, firstly with iron flow batteries and in last year with the hydrogen-nickel market, this is a promising and fantastic market and we have finally reached an impressive level when we talk about energy control, this will enable a revolution in several sectors of the economy, I am experiencing this in practice, through the processes that We are working in our company, what is missing are professionals and quality information like yours, for the expansion of this extremely promising market.
    Thanks.
