O Free Energy Market is on the rise in Brazil, with more than 40 thousand consumers in ACL (Free Contracting Environment), which represents 37,4% of the country's total electricity consumption.
This segment has 13 GW of installed power in large solar plants, which largely meet contracts in this market, meaning more than a third of the energy consumed in the country is traded on the Free Energy Market.
Due to this expansion, the ABSOLAR (Brazilian Photovoltaic Solar Energy Association) will hold an event to discuss the opening of the ACL and participation and potential of solar energy for the energy transition in the country.
The event will be held on Thursday (9), from 14pm, at Renaissance Theater, in São Paulo (SP). The event will also discuss the role and perspectives of self-production with photovoltaic projects in the segment and new business models that strengthen ESG policies in companies.
The debate will bring together the host PV Operation, experts, businesspeople, authorities and entities in the sector, leaders of the ABSOLAR and consultants.
Furthermore, the event will be “zero carbon”, as there will be offsetting credits to neutralize CO2 (carbon dioxide) emissions from activities carried out throughout the meeting.
The initiative is the result of a partnership between ABSOLAR and Commerce Energy, which will account for and compensate for greenhouse gases throughout the itinerary.
