The Açotubo Group has completed the installation of photovoltaic systems at its branches in the interior of São Paulo and at its branches in Paraná and Minas Gerais. According to the company, a total of 331 solar panels have been installed. The investment was R$840 and the estimated payback period is up to three years.
“To facilitate the maintenance and installation process of the equipment, companies were selected in the states where the units are located. Since the alternative has a useful life of 25 years, that’s more than two decades of clean and renewable energy,” said Robson Garcia, the company’s national Operations and Logistics manager.
Garcia also highlighted that, according to tariff projections for the year 2023, carried out by anace (National Association of Energy Consumers), there may be increases of 3% to 8% in electricity bills.
For the executive, these data confirm that investing in solar energy It is the best way to deal with these constant increases, as in addition to resulting in significant savings on electricity bills, it provides protection against energy inflation.
“In addition to being an alternative, renewable and clean energy, contributing to the reduction of carbon emissions (greenhouse gases), it generates significant savings on the electricity bill, protection against price variations, property appreciation, not to mention the rapid return on investment,” he emphasized.
ESG schedule
The actions are part of the ESG agenda of the Açotubo Group, which has been developing several sustainability measures aiming at ISO 14001 certification. According to the company, after an evaluation period, with a survey of gains and technologies involved, the group plans to expand solar energy production to other units, including the headquarters, located in Guarulhos (SP).
Currently, the Guarulhos production complex is in the ACL (Free Contracting Environment), known as the free energy market, acquiring energy from sustainable parks.
“Currently, regardless of the size of the company, sustainability has become a major differentiator in the economic market. Whether among consumers or within business itself, the green economy is gaining more and more relevance. Thus, organizations that use solar energy in their factories, for example, are already more valued in the market and better seen by their customers”, concluded Garcia.
