Alsol Energias Renováveis, a company in the Energisa group, announced that it intends to double its installed power capacity in 2021. The announcement was made by CTO Gustavo Malagoli during participation in the podcast Papo Solar.
“In the case of 2020, for example, we installed around 25 MWp. For next year, we have 15 projects to put into operation – which would correspond to between 45 and 48 MWp. So, our expectations are very good”, commented the executive.
“We will continue to work on new storage products and Service Mobile Tess. We have projects ranging from hybridization of plants – which use hydro and biodiesel with solar, as well as photovoltaics integrated into floating hydroelectric plants – through the issue of energy storage, which today is a path of no return”, said Malagoli.
The expert also highlighted that the company will follow the growth trend of the solar energy market. “The sector will continue to expand more and more, regardless of the regulatory changes that are taking place. We have just reached, for example, 4 GW, speaking only of DG (distributed generation). So, the photovoltaic segment is very promising.”
Alson's CTO also highlighted that when looked at from a technology point of view, Brazil is already applying the state of the art. “We have the best in terms of equipment, techniques and generation. And I believe we have a lot of room to grow. Soon, I think we will be among the top 5 countries and we will be a global reference”.
“Maybe we were a little late compared to other countries. In 2008, in Europe, the issue of photovoltaic solar energy was already very common. However, now in Brazil the sustainability flag is stronger than ever. Renewables are an irreversible trend. This is part of our world, it is in our behavior, in our children. And the coolest thing is that it is happening in parallel with companies and people. There is no doubt, the consumer wants solar”, he highlighted.
Tips for investing in solar
During the podcast, Gustavo Malagoli gave some tips for those who want to invest and work with solar energy. “There are 'N' business models that can be created through a marketing and distribution platform. But, we cannot forget that, at the end of the day, we are talking about electricity, we are talking about security, so, any venture you are going to undertake is necessary to invest in this and in training”.
“You have to get the most you can from that system, with a well-done study, showing where it needs to be optimized and how it needs to be installed. Therefore, invest in trained professionals, do not always choose the cheapest, because the cheapest is not always the most reliable and longest lasting”, he concluded.
