A Criciúma City Hall (SC) signed, this Tuesday (13), a contract for the construction of the Nikola Tesla Solar Farm, at the Immigrants Park, with the aim of supply 63 public schools of the municipality. The location will have the capacity to 1 MW generation of energy through the solar source.
“Here, in this area, which was a coal waste deposit, we built the Parque dos Imigrantes and, now, we are building the Nikola Tesla Solar Farm, which will generate energy for all schools in the municipality”, said Clésio Salvaro, mayor of the city.
In all, there will be 2,200 550 W photovoltaic modules, representing a investment of R$ 3.5 million. The structure was developed in partnership with Unesc (University of the Extremo Sul Catarinense).
A initiative is part of the Sustainable Criciúma Program, which allocates almost R$ 40 million to projects aimed at the conscious and technological development of the municipality. With the program, the municipality seeks to become a reference in Smart Cities.
The concept involves municipalities investing resources in innovation and developing solutions that improve the lives of their inhabitants in various areas, such as security, water supply and the use of clean energy to mitigate the effects of global warming.
In Criciúma, in addition to the construction of the Nikola Tesla Solar Farm, O program has also joined The acquisition and installation of public lighting with LED lamps and the replacement of more than 100 combustion vehicles of the municipal fleet, made up of approximately 300 cars, per electric vehicles with motors powered by rechargeable batteries.
