A factory unit da ARaymond, in Vinhedo (SP), has been supplied since the end of August this year by a solar power plant on more than 1,2 photovoltaic modules installed on the industry roof.

On the afternoon of this Wednesday (08) there was a opening ceremony of the project, with the presence of executives and those responsible for implementing the project.

O work installed, which also has five inverters of 110 kW each, was implemented with the aim of helping the multinational achieve the goal of reset as company's global carbon emissions until the end of the decade.

“One of our objectives is to use renewable energy in all our processes by 2030. We understand that the inauguration of this plant is an important and relevant milestone for us”, said Alexander Pircher, CEO of ARaymond Brasil.

In all, the power generated by the new plant is being responsible for supplying 25% to 30% of the factory's general consumption Vinhedense, which has already guaranteed the company savings of more than R$126 since the plant started operating.

“Our option was to build a zero-export plant. As we have enough consumption for the entire generation, we decided to install a manager that prevents this energy from being exported (to the grid)”, said Antonio Adipietro, maintenance leader at ARaymond in Brazil.

To install the new plant, ARaymond relied on the services commissioning of the Canal Solar, of EPC Eco Solar and logistics of Port Trade Energy – which supplied the solar panels, inverters and structure, enabling the other companies involved to move forward with the project.

“We were very well advised by both Canal Solar and the other companies, which together did an excellent job in terms of technical support so that we could inaugurate this plant with great success”, said Adipietro.

“We sought to bring high-quality Tier 1 solar panels and high-performance inverters to this project, always taking care to offer quality above all else,” said Ricardo Valle, CEO of Port Trade Energy.

“It was a very interesting dynamic, with several meetings to align projects and schedules with other companies. It was a very well-designed project that gave the client what they wanted”, said Adriano Tenório, engineer and coordinator at Eco Solar.

National fixing clips

One of the interesting aspects of implementing ARaymond's new photovoltaic plant was the fact that the fixing clips used in the project are 100% national, even manufactured at the Vinhedo plant itself.

“It was a great challenge to use national fixing clips, as the process of nationalizing this clip was running in parallel with the plant installation work, but in the end it went as expected and made it possible to use them”, according to Rafael Avila, KAM from the Energies division.

Aluminum Structure and Patented Catamaran Design From a technical standpoint, the solution replaces conventional plastic floats with a naval-grade aluminum structure, a material that offers greater mechanical strength, durability, and stability over time, in addition to being non-flammable, UV-resistant, and 100% recyclable. The system adopts catamaran-shaped floats with patented technology, contributing to greater plant stability and better load distribution on the water surface. The structural design also enhances modularity, allowing adaptation to different project configurations. Another differentiating factor is the inclination of the modules. While the market standard for floating systems ranges between 8° and 10°, the solution allows installation with up to 15°, increasing irradiance capture and, consequently, energy generation. The solution uses less material compared to traditional plastic systems, while maintaining structural and operational performance. According to the companies, the cost remains compatible with technologies available on the market, with additional gains in efficiency, logistics, and operation. Simplified Operation and Maintenance In the operational field, the structure was designed to facilitate operation and maintenance activities. Access to the modules is possible from both sides, reducing intervention time and minimizing impacts on generation. The system incorporates a technical walkway with embedded cable trays, responsible for organizing cables and integrating electrical equipment. This layout allows for the installation of inverters close to the strings and ensures direct access to the module connectors. Another advantage is the use of lightweight vessels for maintenance, facilitating movement within the plant and reducing operational costs over time. International applications and performance The solution was developed to meet the demands of both the electricity sector and agribusiness, including applications such as generation for irrigation systems and the use of idle water areas. International projects have already validated the technology's performance. In plants implemented in European countries, increases of 5% to 7% in energy generation were recorded, accompanied by a reduction in operating and maintenance costs.
