With the solar market expanding, safety has become as essential an aspect as energy efficiency. In this context, Areswatt, in partnership with the distributor Bluesun, stands out by offering innovative and safe solutions focused on the distribution of solar panels.

Rapid Shutdown Systems (RSDs) are essential for ensuring safety and fire protection in photovoltaic plants. Roberto Caurim, CEO of Bluesun Brazil, highlighted that the partnership addresses a growing demand for certified, reliable safety devices that comply with the new regulatory requirements of the photovoltaic sector.

“For Bluesun, it is a great satisfaction to be the first distributor in Brazil to offer local stock of Areswatt's Rapid Shutdown. This partnership reinforces our commitment to bringing modern, accessible safety solutions to the market that are fully aligned with current standards, such as the recently published NBR 17193:2025,” said Caurim.

“Regulatory compliance is fundamental to ensuring safer installations, reducing risks, and further professionalizing the photovoltaic sector. Areswatt's RSD is here to facilitate the integrator's work, raise the safety standard of installations, and accelerate the adoption of technologies that make the solar sector more reliable and prepared for the future. And the best part: these products are already available on our platform, ready to serve the market with agility. We are very excited to lead this movement and offer the market a solution that truly makes a difference in the field,” he stated.

According to the company, the models offer capacity for 1, 2, 3, or 6 modules, in addition to two voltage series (12–60 V and 12–120 V), allowing for complete adaptability to the most diverse projects. The company highlights that each input supports up to 25 A of maximum current and 30 A of short-circuit current, which, according to them, ensures greater safety and compatibility with new generation modules.

The embedded technology also enables communication via RS485, integrated with Areswatt's proprietary software, giving operating teams complete control and monitoring of the system.

Construction designed for extreme environments.

Designed to operate with complete reliability even in harsh conditions, the company's RSD features IP68 protection, isolating it against dust, dirt, and even immersion in water. According to Areswatt, the devices operate from -40°C to +85°C, making them ideal for hot, humid regions or those with high sun exposure. In addition, the equipment uses PLC communication, ensuring precise command execution even over long cable runs or in environments with high electromagnetic interference.

Safety and quality are reinforced by ABNT NBR, NEC, UL, and IEC certifications, which meet the most stringent global standards. The company also emphasizes that Areswatt's new RSD line promises a significant leap in efficiency and reliability. For the company, the major highlight is the incorporation of the HPLC protocol.

"This technology ensures stable and precise command transmission even in complex environments with high electromagnetic interference or unfavorable line conditions, guaranteeing the fast and reliable execution of shutdown commands," he explains.

She also emphasizes that, while traditional RSDs only react to problems after they occur, the technology offered by Areswatt goes further. “Ours continuously monitors the operation of photovoltaic modules and identifies anomalies in their early stages, issuing preventative alerts. This shift from a 'reactive' approach to a proactive preventative one raises the safety and reliability of installations to a new level,” she added.

According to Areswatt, the remote shutdown control offers practicality and operational safety, allowing maintenance teams to perform emergency interventions remotely, without the need to travel to the site. This feature becomes particularly essential for large-scale solar power plants, where speed of response is fundamental,” they added.

Another important point emphasized by the company is the durability of the equipment. "The modular structure of the new RSDs facilitates installation and maintenance, while also protecting the internal circuits against environmental impacts, such as humidity and temperature variations."

The materials used were carefully selected to withstand the most adverse conditions, ensuring a long service life, even in harsh environments.

Advantages for large-scale plants

Although the primary function of a fire suppression system (RSD) is fire safety, the new Areswatt line offers a number of additional advantages. Areswatt It details the main benefits for large-scale power plants:

First, there is the increase in operational efficiency. Remote control functions and intelligent fault alerts allow operation and maintenance teams to proactively manage system safety, rather than reacting only after problems occur. This is particularly important in large-scale plants where human resources are limited.

Secondly, the flexibility in system configuration. We offer two series, 60V and 120V, and each device supports the connection of up to 6 photovoltaic modules. This modular design allows for flexible deployment according to energy needs and site conditions, avoiding both over-configuration and under-configuration.

Third, the reduction in total cost of ownership. The compact structure decreases installation complexity and material consumption, while the intelligent warning function identifies potential problems in advance, preventing minor faults from escalating into serious incidents. In the long term, this significantly reduces maintenance costs and unplanned downtime.

And finally, the guarantee of compliance. As safety standards for photovoltaic systems become more stringent worldwide, equipping projects with internationally certified automatic shutdown systems facilitates approval in inspections and offers more favorable conditions for owners in terms of insurance and financing.
