A ATESS Power announced that it provided equipment to a BESS (Battery Energy Storage System) located in the city of Bretanã, in Peru. According to the company, the storage system has 540 kW/1.666 kWh.

All in all, they are two microgrids. Microgrid 1 consists of two HPS de 150 kW, forming a 300 kW network. 2 already has two HPS de 120 kW, forming a 240 kW network.

According to the person responsible for the project, there is still generator set de reserve which can power the batteries during the discharge time, from midnight to 7am; 16 drum racks; an Enerlog monitoring system; is installed solar plant.

“The plant is an investment by the Ministry of Energy and Mines. And currently, thanks to renewable energy, the and growing I will be very large and very favorable for people, as well as for the trade in the region, which consists of fishing and agriculture”, he said.

“We see that consumption and demand in the city will increase. Therefore, the revenue for administrative concessionaire from the center will also increase, and this will have a great influence on the project’s profitability rate”, he added.

Expansion plans

If there are subsidies for the project, the person in charge stated that they will request a budget to increase the battery banks to acquire a more powerful generator set and build offices for the plant's administrative staff.

“It’s true that it will take at least a year, a year and a half, but the project is already underway. These are already bureaucratic procedures and we are waiting for the budget so we can expand,” she explained.

“In addition, we will acquire more equipment from ATESS. The objective is to make the system autonomous, in fact, to have renewable energy 24 hours a day”, he concluded.
