Cameras, traffic lights and smart bus stops are already part of the daily lives of the population of Bairro Itaipu, located in Foz do Iguaçu, Paraná. Now, the region will gain another energy efficiency project.

According to the Tmovi Electric Mobility, soon EVs (electric vehicles) will also be circulating on the streets. The company is one of six startups selected by the Smart Vitrine notice that will participate in the Vila A Inteligente Program to install, test and validate technologies.

According to the company, this increasingly consolidates the neighborhood as a national showcase of innovations and technological experiments, in the open air, starting to attract companies to the municipality.

“Electrified cars are light, sustainable, silent and, above all, have low energy consumption for traveling in urban centers,” said Elias Melo, CEO of Tmovi Electric Mobilidade.

“Our cars are light (weighing less than 400 kg) and require little energy to travel. In other words, it is still more environmentally friendly than other electric vehicles. Because it’s smaller, it’s easier to park,” he explained.

To guarantee mobility, the executive commented that it will be necessary to install some points to charge cars. “Our vehicles have the distinction of being charged using common sockets (110 and 220v). It's not like most other EVs that rely on electric stations to be charged. This is a big advantage, as it is much more practical for the user”, he explained.

The executive also said that the initial idea is to make vehicles available to public authorities and companies. “We will start with two cars, but we can expand to four by the end of the year. If there is demand, we can make even more cars available”, added Melo.

Smart Showcase

Elias Melo considered that participating in the Smart Vitrine notice is a great opportunity for his company to grow and improve new technological solutions in the area of urban mobility. This is possible and more optimized due to the Sandbox environment, specific for experiments.

“The opportunity to validate our vehicles in the Vila A Inteligente Program is very important. We hope to see the receptivity of the population, promote our brand and test this technology, especially the vehicle control and telemetry part (collects information remotely such as: speed, distance, location, consumption, etc.)”, he highlighted.

For Regean Gomes, manager of the PTI-BR Entrepreneurship Center and the Santos Dumont Incubator, Bairro Itaipu A is today the largest Sandbox in Brazil and this environment will increasingly begin to function as a business platform, promoting interaction between society , companies, public bodies, investors, technology demanders and technology providers, increasingly consolidating HUB Iguassu.

“These companies, with their technological solutions being tested here, will bring even more visibility to the Vila A Inteligente Program. This will attract more startups interested in setting up shop here in the city. It is a very important step for the growth and economic diversification of Foz”, he concluded.
