Baterias podem auxiliar na integração entre solar e outras fontes

Outlining a perspective for the future of the solar energy market, Rodolfo Castro, founding partner of RH Renováveis, pointed out that there is a lot of expectation regarding batteries alongside photovoltaic plants.

According to him, batteries can help integrate solar energy and other sources – thermal, wind or hydraulic – and can manage the dispatch of intermittent generation, in addition to promoting greater security and quality of supply.

“Over the last decade, the cost of storage technologies has significantly reduced. Added to the also significant reduction in photovoltaic technologies, solar applications with batteries could become increasingly attractive, competing, for example, with diesel generators in isolated regions”, explained Castro.

The expert also highlighted that an auction of isolated systems is planned for 2021. Therefore, according to him, it is expected that solar generation projects will appear using storage systems to compete with traditional sources.

“Photovoltaic energy will, throughout this decade, compete with other sources without any form of subsidy and will then be able to demonstrate its competitive maturity compared to conventional sources. The new generation models and the attributes market could bring new business opportunities to the entire solar sector”, he concluded.

Auction notice for isolated systems is approved

A ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency) approved, on March 23, the notice of 2021 Auction for Supply to Isolated Systems. The event is scheduled to take place on April 30th online.

Five lots of solutions for supplying electricity to consumers in locations not yet connected to the SIN (National Interconnected System) will be tendered.
