A resident of the Alphaville neighborhood, in São Paulo (SP), has just taken a step that is still unusual in Brazil by joining a BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) to your existing photovoltaic system, which has 84 photovoltaic modules. With the new technology, the consumer will be able to keep the residence fully operational for up to 20 hours in the event of a power outage. blackout — without the need to restrict use to essential equipment, as occurs in conventional backup systems.
The solution allows the homeowner to enjoy uninterrupted power that is independent of the power grid. Even in cases of prolonged power outages, the batteries are recharged during the day by the solar system and provide enough power to keep the home operating normally during the night and early morning hours — without interruptions.
The installation was carried out by the company SolBell, while the commissioning of BESS was the responsibility of CS Consulting — Group company Canal Solar specialized in storage projects and medium and large-scale solar plants. The adoption of BESS systems in homes is still in its infancy in Brazil, mainly due to the high cost and technical complexity involved. Today, the technology is more common in medium and large-scale solar plants.
