The government of the state of Bahia has an open tender for contracting 156 photovoltaic systems which will be installed in full-time state schools, with the aim of reducing electricity expenses. The notice was published in the Official State Gazette. Click here to access.
According to SEINFRA (Infrastructure Secretariat), the total power to be implemented is 47.612,05 kWp, whose cost of investment is estimated at R$ 277,7 million.
In the notice, SEINFRA states that the use of electrical energy is essential for the provision of services by ETIBs (Full-Time State School Units), being necessary for lighting, security, air conditioning of environments, information technology resources (microcomputers, monitors, printers , etc.), among others. This expense represents a cost of around R$39 million in the current annual budget of the SEC (Secretary of Education).
With this measure, it is expected that the solar energy promotes a reduction in energy bills, in the medium term, above 60% annually. The expected payback time for this investment is around 6 years, according to comparative studies carried out.
Still according to SEINFRA, the solar energy is seen as the best solution to supply part of the electrical energy consumption of school units, taking into account the considerable levels of solar radiation in Bahia. From an environmental aspect, the source does not emit pollutants, contributing to the reduction of CO2 emissions.
Will be offered four lots in an electronic auction, with the winner being whoever offers the lowest bid. The winner will be responsible for supplying the equipment, building the plants and training state agents to carry out maintenance. Participating companies must demonstrate experience in implementing photovoltaic systems.
