Um bill which proposes the provision of solar energy for APAEs units (Associations of Parents and Friends of Exceptional Children) and APMIs (Associations for the Protection of Maternity and Childhood) was filed with the Legislative Assembly of Paraná on Wednesday last week (05).

Authored by deputy Anibelli Neto (MDB), the project foresees that companies from Paraná power (Copel), of gas (Compagas) and water sanitation (Sanitize) allocate resources for sustainability actions aimed at purchase of photovoltaic kits for associations.

“I understand that this project is extremely important and I ask other parliamentarians to join in this cause so that clean energy can be produced through solar panels, reducing electricity expenses so that APAEs and APMIs in the state can invest resources with other priorities”, said the deputy.

Minas Gerais

It It is not the first initiative which aims to reduce the value of electricity bills for associations that carry out social work with exceptional people or those in vulnerable conditions in Brazil.

Last year, the Cemig YES – wholly owned subsidiary of Cemig (Minas Gerais Energy Company) began to meet the APAE mining units.

Currently, each of the spaces is having a savings of R$80 thousand per year. The units served are located in several cities in the state, such as Divinópolis, Janaúba, Juiz de Fora, Ouro Preto and Viçosa.
