A solar energy reached another symbolic mark in Brazil: 2 million systems installed in the segment of distributed micro and minigeneration, show data from ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency).

In this market, photovoltaic connections today total almost 22 GW of installed power and benefit more from 2,61 million UCs (consumer units) in all Brazilian states.

Currently, São Paulo is the state with greater number of systems installed, with more than 324,7 thousand connections, followed by Rio Grande do Sul (254,2 thousand), Minas Gerais (248,3 thousand), Paraná (173,3 thousand) and Bahia (107,1 thousand), respectively.

Among the consumer class, residential continues to be responsible for greater number of systems distributed solar micro and mini generation: just over 1,57 million connections, which corresponds to almost 80% of the total.

Then the categories appear commercial, rural and industrial, with 215 thousand, 173 thousand and 32 thousand connections, respectively.

The Agency's data also shows that 5.530 of the total of 5.570 Cities in the country already have at least one solar DG system installed in closed residences or small plots of land.

A greater difficulty of penetration from the source still occurs in municipalities isolated from large centers or in remote communities, where access is possible only by boat or air transport.
