Brennand Energia, an energy supplier to the regulated market and operating in Mercado Livre, announced that it will invest in the construction of five electricity generation parks in Sento Sé (BA). The total contribution will be around R$ 629 million in one solar energy and four wind energy generating parks.
“Wind energy has a more significant production at night and during the day we have solar production, so we deliver energy as constantly as possible”, stated the director of Brennand Energia, Adelson Ferraz.
The company estimates that Brennand's first solar park, Sol do São Francisco I, will begin operations in April this year and produce 98.1 GWh per year.
The wind farms, Morro Branco II and Baraunas IV, XV and XX, are scheduled to come into operation between March and May 2022. Together they will have the capacity to produce 661.3 GWh of energy per year for the state.
The protocol of intentions was signed on December 29, 2020 with the Government of the State of Bahia, through the SDE (Secretariat of Economic Development).
“The state, which has contributed brilliantly to the diversification of the energy matrix using its natural potentials, which are sun and wind. The company also contributes to the development of the region, bringing jobs and income to our people. That in 2021, we can announce many more investments”, said the vice-governor of Bahia, João Leão.
Currently, Brennand has ten wind farms in operation and one under construction in Sento Sé. Together, the plants have an installed capacity of 341MW, the company's investment was R$ 1.3 billion.
