More and more alternatives aimed at sustainability are being implemented in the urban mobility market. This time, the BYD has launched the new version of the eT3 Van in Brazil. According to the manufacturer, the vehicle has innovative technology and features with greater profitability. The new version features a new battery pack, which reduced the vehicle's weight from 1870 kg to 1700 kg.

Other new features highlighted by the manufacturer include a speed limit of up to 100 km/h, providing greater safety and autonomy, and a faster and more stable DC charging system. Furthermore, with autonomy of up to 300 km and the possibility of recharging 20% to 80% of the battery in 30 minutes – which guarantees up to 180 km more of travel – the model has a capacity for 720 kg of cargo and space in the compartment for 3,3 liters.

“We currently have more than 50 vehicles in operation in Brazil. By the end of the year, we aim to triple this fleet nationwide,” said Henrique Antunes, BYD’s Sales Director. According to the executive, one factor that stands out is the operational value.

“The BYD eT3 van ensures greater accuracy in cost forecasting. This is because the price of electricity does not vary on a large scale, as is the case with fuels in general.” Adalberto Maluf, the manufacturer’s Marketing and Sustainability Director, emphasized that this is a new experience with unique features and resources that will make deliveries faster, more productive, more economical, quieter and with zero pollutant emissions.

Companies adopt electric vans

According to BYD, several companies committed to reducing greenhouse gases from their logistics processes have already put 100% electric vans into operation. Pepsico, for example, is one of them.

For Ítalo Portes, Purchasing Manager, the partnership with BYD helped to measure the environmental benefits of the product. “We can actually mitigate and eliminate all CO2 emissions gradually, as is the company’s plan.”

Corpus Saneamento e Obras also invested in green mobility and, after implementing 100% electric BYD trucks to collect residential waste, acquired the eT3 van for collecting waste from healthcare services.

Another company that has adopted sustainability is Carbono Zero. “Our dream was to have a 100% electric vehicle and BYD was the natural choice as it was the first to offer a car with the dimensions we needed. The electric car, like the bicycle, works without emitting pollution and without noise”, explained Leonardo Lorentz, manager of the delivery company.
