A Caesb (Environmental Sanitation Company of the Federal District) started officially, this Wednesday (1st), yours entry into the Free Energy Market, with expectation of a reduction of 35% in the value of expenses with electrical energy.

Altogether, the company expected to save around R$ 54.5 million per year with the exchange of the captive market for the possibility of negotiating its energy directly from the generators or suppliers of your choice.

According to Caesb, the initiative is an important measure to help rationalize the company's resources, after all, one of the biggest expenses in the sanitation sector is electrical energy, used in all stages of the water and sewage treatment processes.

Last year, the company spent more than R$ 190 million on electricity across all its facilities. Of this amount, ten units represent almost 75% of electricity costs.

“For this reason, we will migrate the systems of the South, North and Melchior sewage treatment plants and the Brasília, Lago Norte and Rio Descoberto water treatment plants, the Taguatinga Sul Treated Water Pump and the Torto and Rio Descoberto Raw Water Pumps along this year,” he said. Carlos Eduardo Borges Pereira, director of operations and maintenance at Caesb.
