A Gramado City Council (RS) implemented, at the end of 2022, a solar energy system. And, in just two months of using the panels, you are already achieving a significant reduction in your electricity bill.

According to information released by official portal, the savings are already R$ 9 thousand. The initiative was carried out under the management of then president Renan Sartori (MDB), through a bidding process last year, and concluded in November.

The results refer to the period of time between December 2022 and January 2023, compared to the same period in previous years, when electrical energy was not yet generated through the capture of sunlight.

In December 2021, the electricity bill was R$ 5,412.05, and was reduced to just R$ 146 in December 2022, with the plates already installed. At the beginning of 2022, in January, the City Council paid R$ 3,969.18 for electricity consumption, and in the same month this year it started paying R$ 108.08.

The current president, Celso Fioreze (PSDB), defends a project to adapt the headquarters, with smarter, more modern and sustainable facilities. According to him, the results of the investment are directly in line with the premise of the Chamber's current administration.

“Public buildings need to adapt to the new possibilities that the market offers and which bring more efficient management of public resources, in addition, of course, to contributing to the environment, something that Gramado needs to always be aware of”, he states.

“If we continue at this pace, the year's economic results will be even greater”, highlights Fioreze, concluding that the City Council expects to obtain a return on investment from the photovoltaic system in three years.
