O Canal Solar is proud to present its new visual identity, the result of an intense and creative rebranding process. Released on 3rd edition of Canal Connect, this milestone represents our evolution and our continued commitment to the promotion and development of photovoltaic solar energy in Brazil.
With the collaboration of design company BrandSolar, we have improved our brand to better reflect our mission of contributing to the growth of solar energy, connecting professionals, investors and companies through information, education and training.
Why change?
This question is essential to understand the motivation behind our rebranding process. The change in visual identity goes beyond a simple aesthetic update. In the dynamic and rapidly evolving landscape of solar energy, it is critical that our brand reflects our relevance and capacity for innovation.
The change was driven by the need to stay up to date and aligned with market trends. Furthermore, the rebranding of our logo is a way to demonstrate our growth and adaptation to the new realities of the sector.
We want our visual identity to clearly communicate who we are today and where we intend to go, always focusing on our mission, vision and values.
The challenges of change
During the process, there were two main challenges: Not losing connection with our audience and maintaining the essential characteristics of our logo.
From the beginning, the objective was not only to make the logo modern and attractive, but also to show the essence of the brand. We started with collaborative workshops, involving our internal team and Brand Solar team.
In these sessions, we discussed our core values, our mission and how we wanted to be perceived by the market.
These meetings were essential to capturing a holistic view of the Canal Solar and identify the key elements that should be represented in our new visual identity.
We then began to sketch preliminary concepts. These initial drafts went through several rounds of feedback, refinement, and adjustments. Every detail, from colors to typography, was carefully considered to ensure the end result was a reflection of authenticity and excellence.
Branding elements
Brighter colors, we updated the palette with vibrant and impactful colors that help the brand stand out. Red directly alludes to the urgency in delivering the most relevant news in a market that evolves rapidly every day.
Deep blue was selected to symbolize trust, stability and professionalism, characteristics that support the credibility and authority of the company. Canal Solar in the solar energy sector.
This blue also starts the light spectrum in the gradient, while red, representing the last wave of the spectrum, ends the gradient. Together, these colors create a cohesive and memorable visual identity, which reinforces the company's messages of urgency, strength and leadership. Canal Solar.
More modern and flat rectangle
The transition to a flat design, without shadows and with simpler lines, is in line with contemporary graphic design trends. This style not only visually modernizes the brand, but also improves the logo's readability and applicability across different media and surfaces.
The goal was to maintain the brand's recognizable visual identity while introducing modern elements. Inspired by ultrawide screens to stretch the logo's background rectangle, evoking the sensation of a wider, more immersive and detailed view.
Typography
The modernization of the source of Canal Solar reflects a transition to a cleaner look. The new version of the brand features a font with modern curves.
The use of lower case in the word “channel” suggests a more accessible and friendly approach. This typographic evolution indicates the brand's commitment to clarity and efficiency, aligning the logo with the company's mission. Canal Solar aims to provide clear, up-to-date information on the ever-evolving solar energy sector. The revamped font projects a more polished and professional image for a brand that is a leader in its sector.
The “O” element in SOLAR
To bring an element of differentiation, after some tests, we added a little red ball inside the letter “O” in the word Solar.
We asked some people on our team what impression they had when seeing the element below and the answers were varied, some said it resembles the sun, others an electron, rec, globe, live, in short, in a way, all options are connected with our brand.
Our new brand is not just an aesthetic change; it is a reflection of our mission to connect professionals, investors and companies through information, education and training.
The dynamic and welcoming design reinforces our role as a meeting point in the sector, promoting the exchange of knowledge and the development of new opportunities.
The mission of the Canal Solar is clear: to contribute to the development of photovoltaic solar energy in Brazil. We do this by providing high-quality information and news, promoting continuous education and training professionals to face the challenges of the sector.
The new brand was created to be a symbol of this mission, incorporating elements that represent growth, innovation and collaboration.
The rebranding journey of Canal Solar was, in many ways, a journey of self-discovery. It was an opportunity to reflect on our values, review our achievements and envision the future we want to build. This process allowed us to align our visual identity with our long-term strategic vision.
During the process, we realized that rebranding was not just about changing our external appearance, but also about reinforcing our internal culture, the true branding of a brand starts from the inside out, branding is strongly linked to its culture and goes beyond the relationship with consumers, it is necessary to start with internal alignment.
We broke the bubble, the round logo greatly limited our application options and to provide more flexibility in applications, the logo has 2 versions: Vertical and horizontal.
Our news website also had its look changed, now in a much more responsive, clean and modern version. The new visual identity of Canal Solar marks the beginning of a new chapter in our story and we’re excited to see how our new brand will help us connect even more people and businesses in this space.
