An increase of 1.2% in the SIN (National Interconnected System) load is estimated, according to the bulletin from the PMO (Monthly Operation Program) of the ONS (National Electric System Operator).
The reasons for this, as pointed out by the ONS in its report, can be associated with the fact that we are approaching summer, a period of higher average temperatures and the gradual resumption of free consumer activities in the North of the country
According to the bulletin, three subsystems present estimates of evolution in the projection for the end of the current month:
- Southeast/Central-West the expected increase is 1.2% (40,620 MWmed);
- South has 1.3% (12,790 MWmed), and;
- North should register growth of 9.6% (6,594 MWmed).
The Northeast subsystem is the only one with a projected reduction in load: 2.8% (11,354 MWmed). All scenarios presented compare December 2022 to the same period last year.
Stored energy and weather conditions
Regarding Stored Energy, the ONS points out that the prospective scenario for the end of the last month of the year indicates that reservoirs in all regions should end 2022 with levels above 50%.
The ONS also analyzes that, compared to the estimated values for the current week, an increase in inflows from the southeast, northeast and north subsystems and a recession in inflows from the southern subsystem are expected for the next operational week.
The monthly forecast for December indicates the occurrence of inflows below the historical average for the southeast, south and northeast subsystems and above the historical average for the north subsystem.
